Position: Head Coach

Coach Mac is in his 8th year as the head baseball coach for the JAGS. He was the AIA State Coach of the year in 2011 for all sports and all levels and also the City of Phoenix Baseball Coach of the year in 2011.  Mac’s varsity team made it to the final six in 2011 and final four in 2010 in the 5AII State Playoffs and made the state playoffs in 2007 and 2008 while finishing in the top half of the region the last six years. The 2011 team set a school record with 33 wins and the 2010 team set the all time state record for hits in a season for the state of Arizona with 485 hits on the year. Boulder Creek has had more wins over the last two seasons than any other team in Arizona, winning 59 games. Coach Mac has had 12 players go onto play college baseball and this year’s team has five players already signed to go on to play college baseball including two Division I players.  In the past seven years of the program’s history, the varsity team has compiled an accumulative G.P.A. over 3.35.  Coach Mac was selected to coach the 2010 and 2008 AZBCA 5A North Senior All-Star team and the 2009 Coca Cola Academic All-Star Game. He has had 1 All-American, 12 different players make the All-State Team and 10 players make senior All-Star teams. He moved to Arizona 12 years ago from Oregon, where he played his college career at Linfield College in 1994 and at Western Oregon University under Coach Terry Baumgartner from 95-97.  Shortly thereafter, he was an assistant coach at Western Oregon University from 98-2000, where the Wolves made it to the Regional Tournament all three seasons. Coach Mac was the head coach for the Central Oregon Storm (AAA Legion) from 97-99, where he compiled a record of 130-56 over three summers. He had over 20 players go onto play college baseball and 3 professionally.  Coach Mac is currently a certified pitching instructor with the National Pitching Association. He teaches in the Physical Education department at Boulder Creek High School and is the Deer Valley Unified School District Athletic Director for the 7-8 level where he oversees 16 schools in the region.  He is a resident of New River and lives with his wife Pam, daughters Paislee and Liliana and his son Montgomery.

Position: Head Varsity Assistant
Coach Osterode is returning to the staff for a Seventh year and brings a big background to the program.  He was High School All-State (California), JUCO South Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year. Osterode was drafted in the 2nd round by the Seattle Mariners and played four years in the Mariners organization. He also coached high school baseball for 7 years in Orange County, California. Coach Osterode was an assistant coach on the 2010 and 2008 AZBCA 5A North Senior All-Star team.  Coach Osterode has coached Boulder Creek's summer legion team for the past five years.  He is a certified pitching instructor with the National Pitching Association.  Coach O is a resident of Anthem and lives here with his wife, Robin, and their three children, Taylor, Garrett and Troy.
Position: Varsity Assistant

Coach Levine grew up in Iowa and started coaching high school baseball in Iowa in the summer of 1983.  He coached for 3 years there before moving to Arizona in 1986.  That year he started coaching at Bradshaw Mountain H.S. in Prescott Valley and was the Head J.V. coach for 6 years and then the Head Varsity coach for 6 more years.  He then moved to Anthem and coached at Cactus Shadows H.S. for 7 years. This will be Coach Levine’s 5th year at Boulder Creek H.S. coaching baseball.  Coach Levine is married to his wife Julie who teaches at Anthem Elem. He has two great boys Alex and Bryan.
